A family sells off its only car and travels by foot and by bicycle instead. In many cities this is so common as to be unremarkable. In the non-urban Midwest, however, it’s a bit more radical. And difficult. Mass transit is limited to non-existent. The town sprawls and destinations are more spread apart. The area is designed for cars and the car drivers are less used to bicycles in their roadways. But we’re giving it a shot, anyway, and here I’ll let you know how it’s going.
